Why Come to Chalo School?
Chalo School is a First Nations Independent School that offers education from Prekindergarten through to Grade 12. One of the unique opportunities that students have at Chalo School is to participate in Language Classes in Dene or Cree and also attend Cultural Classes. At Chalo School we focus on finding ways to ensure high levels of learning to meet the strengths and needs of all of our students.
We have a Student Support team that consists of a Student Support Resource Teacher, Counselor and Child and Youth Care Coordinator. In order to support attendance we provide lat-arrival pick-ups for students. Through outstanding teaching in a nurturing environment, Chalo inspires students to become Strong, Healthy, Proud and Self-Reliant. To foster a healthy lifestyle, we have a hot breakfast and lunch program free for all students. Within Chalo School, we have an Athletic Coordinator and Athletic Assistant that endeavor to find ways to help our students and families to participate in a healthy and active lifestyle.
Every morning all of our Elementary students and staff start the day with a Morning Circle where we gather at 8:45am. We would love to have you join us in starting our day in a great way!
